The rule of faith and practice for GACA is derived from the Holy Bible.
GACA’s doctrinal position is guided by the belief that the Holy Spirit is the interpreter of the Word.
GACA asserts that God reveals doctrine, and that He continually gives spiritual insight for God’s historical plan,
manifested in these last days through His Son Jesus Christ.
It is the prayer of GACA that the unity and fellowship of God’s people should be based on the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
In recognition of the doctrinal and cultural diversity, which is represented by GACA member churches and organizations,
GACA limits her statement to the following biblical affirmations:
1. The Godhead We believe in the one true God, who has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent the “I AM,” existing in three persons:
The Father, The Son-Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit.
These three are distinguished but indivisible in essence: co-eternal, co-existing, co-equal in nature, attributes, power, and glory
(2 Cor.13: 14, Matt. 28:19).
2. The Holy Bible The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God – It is the infallible rule of faith and conduct and as such is
above conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason (2Tim. 3:15-17; 1 Thess.2:13)
3. Sin Man and woman were created good and upright, for God said, “let us make man in our image, after our likeness.”
The first man, Adam through disobedience fell from the position God intended for mankind and thus sin and death entered into the world.
Adam’s transgressions incurred spiritual death, which is separation from God. The resultant depravity of sinful human nature necessitates salvation
and redemption from the power of sin, which can only be obtained through the Lord Jesus Christ (Gen. 1:2631; 2: 17; 3: 6-24; Romans 5:12-21).
4. The Salvation of Man Humankind’s only hope for redemption and salvation from the power of sin is through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ
(Acts 4: 8-12; Rom. 5:8-21; 10:9-10).
Salvation is by the grace of God through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; it is the gift of God and not the works of any man.
Salvation is an inward witness of the Holy Spirit, that we are the children of God. (Rom. 8:16)
5. The Lord Jesus Christ We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin (Matt. 1:18).
In His love for lost humanity He voluntarily gave His life on the cross, one sacrifice for sins forever, and thereby
He became the Saviour of the Word (John 2: 1-2).
We believe that He rose from the dead, appeared to many in the flesh (John 20: 16-31) and that when He departed the earth,
He ascended into Heaven where He remains at the right hand of God the Father interceding for us (Rom.8: 34).
